Devlog Journal 2

This week's lesson could best be told in a quote from chapter 2 that states "...when learning a new field is to become familiar with the tools of the trade". This is the fundamental lesson of this week because when working in groups you would have one or two ideas, but learn how to expand or minimize upon an existing idea. Getting feedback and getting ideas from other people helps upon your own projects in a way. It can inadvertently help your own project which is a plus in my book because it can fix problems that maybe we may be struggling with. Now from Chapter 3 a quote that played well into this week was "Videogames are usually thought of in terms of genre". This couldn't be so much more obvious as we did play two games that were totally different genres. One dealing with battleships and the other requiring charades. Such different genres that can make some good ideas for other people who may be intrigued. With chapter 4 a quote that shows what we did a little of was "...we ask more of our players than just using actions to interact". For our group, although we didn't have time to present, we ask our game to communicate with people and think more and have a bigger attention to details upon players around them.
